4.2 Understanding the needs and expectations of workers and other interested parties
Who are interested parties, what do they need and expect?
The standard is looking for an organization to managed interested parties who can affect or be affected by the OH&S management system. The organization needs to take the time to identify these interested parties and to understand their needs and expectations. It may be that the organization sees a benefit by voluntarily adopting an initiative, for example, ISO 14001:2015, or perhaps OH&S key staff would be required to hold membership of IOSH.
These may include; (both internal and external)
•Suppliers (utilities / materials)
•Providers (contractors, subcontractors. agency staff, etc)
•Employees (all levels)
•Landlord / Land Owner
•Local / Public Authorities
•Community / pressure groups
•Media (Social, Newspaper, TV, Radio, etc)
•Share holder groups
•Industry membership associations
Note: Those parties relevant or related to the OH&S system.
